I create and publish daily wildfire progression maps and provide real-time updates using open-source data. My work delivers context-rich fire information to help the public better understand wildfire behavior, impacts, suppression strategies, and mega-fire prevention efforts. I also author detailed wildfire analyses to educate and engage the community at the-lookout.org, alongside outreach efforts on social media and moderating our wildfire live-stream updates on YouTube.

Fields of Activity:• Responsibilities included: implementation of ecologically centered vegetation management strategies8 aimed to increase fire resiliency and biodiversity while decreasing invasive plant species, maintenance of existing prescribed fire burn units and associated fire lines, piled vegetation ignitions, native seed collection, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment including chinsaws, pole saws, trimmers, mowers, UTV's, and diesel 4x4 vehicles, documentation of in field projects, native and invasive species identification, supervision of land steward I crew members.

Fields of Activity:• Responsibilities included adhering to and meeting requirements for USDA Food Security grant.• Collaborating with multiple project partners to achieve grant objectives.• Increasing access to healthy local food while building food systems literacy within the Upriver Yurok Tribal Reservation.• Key duties included designing, implementing, managing and maintaining the Weitchpec Food Forest & Community Garden, as well as the Weitchpec Yurok Magnet Elementary School Garden. Designing and building at home food gardens. • Developing western gardening and food systems curriculum for K-8 students and providing students with hands on gardening experience while teaching them about ecology, sustainable food systems and healthy food options.• Seeking out additional program support partners and grant writing to expand Cultural Fire Management Council’s “Food Security” program.
