I am an intellectual property and commercial lawyer who specialises in technology and media related work. Having originally trained and worked in the UK I am also admitted to practice in New South Wales, Australia. I have extensive experience as a commercial lawyer in intellectual property focused environments both as an in-house counsel, and in private legal practice.I spent the first five years of my career in television as an in-house lawyer for two of Britain’s leading television production companies, cutting my teeth as a commercial and intellectual property lawyer with these companies on groundbreaking TV projects such as the original version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.I moved to Australia in early 2003, taking up a role as legal counsel for the Southern Star Group in Sydney. Whilst at Southern Star I was a member of the intellectual property advisory committee for the Screen Producer’s Association of Australia.In 2006 I went into private legal practice as a Senior Associate with Blueprint Law in Sydney broadening my areas of practice to encompass work in software, technology and new media licensing and exploitation and honing my existing general commercial and IP-related skills .In 2010 I moved to Prague to take up the role of Legal and Commercial Manager for the Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) group of companies, and in 2011 I became Group General Counsel and moved back to Australia to also become MD of Australian operations, where I have helped to consolidate and build on the stellar growth the group has seen in the past few years. In my continuing role as Group General Counsel I enjoy influencing and advising on Group strategy and operations as part of the BISim Executive Management team.Specialties: All aspects of general commercial law, project financing and employment law, intellectual property advice and management including protection and exploitation of IP generally and technology and media products specifically.
