Being a freelance writer is my dream job. I wake up excited to get to work on whatever I'm doing that day, whether it's talking to a world record holding freediver or testing the latest tent, riding off on a new adventure or transcribing notes. I love coming up with new story ideas and often churn them out faster than I can write them down. I approach life with curiosity and a thirst to know more about everything and everyone. I want to know what motivates people to be great and selfless, to pursue their passion and suffer for something more than themselves. Most of all I love the craft of becoming an expert on different topics and then the creative process of distilling it into language anyone can relate to and understand. Since 2001 all these skills have combined to allow me to earn a living as a freelance writer. I've been published in magazines, newspapers and websites. I've written website content, press releases, promotional material and advertising copy. I'm the field editor at Explore Magazine and a contributor to magazines and websites like Outside, Men's Journal, Maxim.com, Canoe & Kayak, Backcountry, Powder, Skiing, Ski Canada, British Columbia Magazine and many more. I strive to exceed expectations with everything I do - filing before deadline, talking to more sources, doing more research or sourcing graphic support.While I won't call myself a pro, my photography and video skills are proficient.
