I came to the work of psychotherapy from my own journey of learning who I am, and whom I wish to become. This lifelong journey has taken me through explorations in Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Somatic Psychotherapy, along with other modalities. In my own exploration, I have become insatiably curious about the world around me, how I know what I know, and what my blind spots are. I have found my own path in that exploration and find joy in encouraging others to find their own curiosity.Much of my approach is informed through the lenses of post-capitalism and chosen culture. I believe that most people are playing the game of life by an ever-shifting set of rules they did not consent to, and in many cases are not even aware of. Buckminster Fuller once said, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” Inspired by these words, I am seeking to find my own model of living my best and most authentic life, and seek to share this journey with others and empower those who wish to do the same. I am constantly growing and learning how to do this through my work with my clients.My methodology can be most succinctly called Personal Alchemy. I believe that our diversity is what makes us each uniquely beautiful and interesting. I believe our pain can become our greatest teacher, and our struggle is the fuel that purifies our consciousness to find the Gold within. I believe in meeting people where they are, and in helping them to realize their own strength to attain the highest and most authentic version of themselves. I believe that the answers for our healing and integration already exist within us and that my job is to hold a safe space, reflect, and encourage this journey of self-discovery to unfold. In doing this, I believe that the world is changed for the better, one step at a time.
