Parker Adventist Hospital

This position combines financial and operational expertise. I report to CFO and Finance Director at Parker Adventist Hospital. Responsbilities include development of budget for the Department of Surgery; purchasing of capital and non-capital equipment; implementation of new technologies, processes and policies; participation in key facility committees that impact the OR; coordination/collaboration with hospital departments to include Supply Chain, IT, Pharmacy, Finance and others; facilitation of LEAN initiatives; development of cost analysis process to insure aligned pricing stategies; creation of various reports for CEO, CFO and other hospital leaders utlizing OR data.

Cfx is an Orthopedic multi-specialty group consisting of thirteen (13) full-time physicians, thirteen (13) contract physicians and four Physician Assistants. Disciplines include orthopedic trauma, spine, hand/microvascular, sports, adult reconstruction, podiatry and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Practice generates over $13 million in professional charges annually. o Marketed Orthopedic program nationally and internationally for purposes of obtaining new service lines and physicians. This resulted in the addition of two renowned physicians to the program expanding the breadth of service to our patients.o Recruited, credentialed, licensed and oriented Faculty, AO Trauma Fellows, AO Research Fellows, US Naval Residents, medical students, and AO as well as non-AO observational fellows.o Monitored daily physician billing activity to assure all charges were captured. Recovered $750k in charges annually; generated monthly financial and productivity (RVUs) reports.o Assessed viability of new programs and developed business plans to assure successful implementation. This resulted in the addition of a research program that improved care to the trauma patients.o Interacted daily with executive staff, finance, budget, billing, coding and compliance, legal, research, medical records, human resources, Denver Health Foundation and public relations.o Managed Orthopedic clinic operations and staff. By using the Lean process, staff was coordinated and aligned in a way to increase efficiencies and decrease patient wait times.o Prepared the Orthopedic and Surgical department’s annual reports to the CEO.o Composed quarterly marketing campaign for distribution to an eight state region.o Responsible for eight research and operational cost centers comprised of cash in excess of $1.2 million.o Participated in/led 3-4 hospital re-engineering projects per year (LEAN program). EmCare is a physician practice management/consulting firm specializing in Emergency and Primary Care medicine with corporate offices located in Dallas, Texas.
