The sphere in which we foster meaningful discourse encompasses our entire planet, and as consumers/producers of information, I believe we have an obligation to maintain meaningful ideas and innovations that positively contribute to the global Communications structure. My contributions began with a small tape recorder;A well-used and beloved trademark of my childhood imagination, it served as a wonderful tool for outlining the exciting events that would occur at home in the course of a 60-minute tape. I went through more tapes then I could count.The underlying motives behind my pursuits were simple - I loved creating. While the tapes never made it into the "mainstream", I was morally satisfied with simply having made something, that I in some way added to this seemingly interconnected world of information.Since then, this devotion to creation has become way more fine-tuned to suit my growing passion for people and stories. I have spent much of my young-adult years in an academic and creative mindset, attending two colleges in order to build a foundation in communications and cultural studies, and supplementing it with proactive engagement in the public sphere via social media. Overall, I found that I had a unique disposition towards communication that is both informative and meaningful to a diverse audience.Any event can be portrayed in an accessible platform, whether it be online or in-person. But it's not enough to just explain what happened, you have to think about the way you deliver the info, and why you're delivering it in that way. This opens up a number of possible narratives that can make any topic of discourse engaging to everyone that may be listening. That is why I chose to devote my time and resources to Communications; it is an industry that facilitates creativity and new discoveries. Most importantly, it is a profound tool that can be utilized to better understand ourselves and our relationship to the incredibly diverse world we live in.
