Several sites were selected based on predetermined site screening and site selection criterion and the results from play-based exploration, proximity to emission sources and subsurface ability to fulfill project requirements. Initial characterization performed on a Middle Devonian carbonate site and a Permian clastic site. Acquisition of data from processed 2D seismic lines incorporated into subsurface common risk segment mapping of reservoir presence, reservoir effectiveness, seal presence, faults and fractures. Appraisal well locations chosen based on subsurface risk assessment. Well test and core analysis programs created to support detailed characterization.Small scale (~100 ktpa) site screening and site selection conducted across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Show less

Recommended land acquisition strategy to management. Results from exploration wells averaged 9.5 mmcf/d and 1,425 bbl/d natural gas liquids and oil.

Assessment of the Horn River Group shale oil potential in the central Mackenzie Valley. Methods involved sampling and describing outcrop, cuttings analysis, core description and sampling, and facies analysis. Interpreted results were published in a June 2011 report that detailed the resource assessment of Horn River Group. This report was used by industry during a public land offering, resulting in >$500MM in federal exploration license commitments.
