Served as one of thirteen youth trainers who traveled across the Western United States and to Tokyo to deliver the National Leadership Seminar program. At each seminar, I was responsible for delivering 1-2, 60 min presentations/workshops on various leadership topics and skills. Additionally, I served as a crew guide for 8-10 youth and adult participants. In this role, I helped them understand the seminar materials, and helped advise and prepare them to apply the skills taught within their units.

Northern California/Nevada

Served two one-year elected terms as Section W-3N Chief. As the lead youth, I directed a team of 15 peers and their adult advisers in the planning efforts for our annual event, the section conclave. Served as a mentor to five youth leaders, each with their own organization. Provided training and support to enable their success in leadership, event management, project management, and communication to execute their own events. During my second term, the national organization decided to revitalize the section conclaves nationwide. I worked with two of my advisers to rediscover the purpose of the event and how it could be utilized to solve membership activation and retention issues within the organization. Over the course of several months, we developed a process that focused on cultivating an individual’s relationship with a group, called The I.D.E.A. Method. My team and I then worked to develop and integrate this process into a weekend event format for the section conclave. After a successful event and some revisions to the pilot program, the program was adopted nation-wide.

Selected as the Program Lead and On-Site Lead for the first national STEM event of the Boy Scouts of America, co-sponsored with Intel. Defined the program vision for the event and recruited/led a team to realize the vision. Led numerous planning sessions. Networked with key Intel employees to coordinate the program, including recruiting mentors for the participants from the Intel Employee Resource Groups. After the event was successfully executed, led an effort to construct and communicate a post-event analysis. From the conclusions gathered in that analysis, I expanded the event concept and developed the framework for future STEM events in the Boy Scouts of America.
