As a Staff Officer in the Rewards & Wellbeing Branch of the Human Resource Department (HRD), I was involved in a diverse range of initiatives including:Awards & Recognition:• Oversaw financial assistance (FA) applications for all NSFs across SCDF.• Facilitated the transition to an updated FA policy by MHA.Staff Welfare & Benefits:• Assisted in the planning of Force-wide welfare initiatives such as SCDF Family Day 2024 and the Frozen Yogurt Booth.• Administered distribution of the First Bookout vouchers and facilitated the transition to digital LifeSG credits.Exit & Career Transition (CT):• Designed and implemented a Force-wide workflow to better understand officers' motivations for resignation or transfer of service.• Assisted with transition to the Enhanced Learning and Development Scheme under MHA's CT programme.Leadership:• Co-founder and Chairman of the HRD NSF Committee. Organized a bowling team bonding event for HRD NSFs and created the HRD Pride and Care Award to recognize NSFs performing beyond their scope of duty.• Co-secretary at the Staff Engagement and Well-being Committee Meeting 02/24, presenting on the utilization of leave for SCDF's frontliners.Technology & Process Improvement:• Conducted a training session on the effective use of Microsoft Copilot for HR processes.• Developed two chatbots using GPT-4 to assist in the assessment of financial assistance applications and evaluation of the HRD Pride and Care, NSF/NSMan of the Year, Operational Excellence, and SCDF Commissioner's Commendation Awards.Event Management:• Directed stage movements during the 2024 SCDF COVID-19 Resilience Medal Awards Ceremony.• Oversaw guest management for the 2024 Commissioner's Award Presentation Ceremony and SCDF Workplan Seminar 2024.• Oversaw ushering at SCDF Parade 2024.

Civil Defence Academy

The Rota Commander Course (RCC) is the most extensive course offered by the Civil Defence Academy, focusing on leadership and incident management. I achieved the following:• Acquired in-depth knowledge of Urban Search and Rescue Operations, including road traffic accidents with overturned vehicles, confined space rescues with mass casualties, height/depth rescues, and suicide rescues.• Completed the three-week Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Specialist Course.• Co-organizer of the Commissioning Parade for 28th RCC, handling guest management and food selection.• "Gold" achievement in the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).

Civil Defence Academy

• Managed manpower distribution across various appliances to ensure the operational readiness of my platoon.• Led a team of decontamination specialists during Exercise BOCA 2023 and participated in NDP 2023 standby.

Following good performance during basic training, I was selected to join the Section Commander Course (SCC). During the SCC, cadets are trained to lead sections of three to five firefighters. Key experiences are as follows:• Received advanced firefighting training through scenario-based exercises, including basement, high-rise, and unit fires.• Completed the Fire Safety Manager Course.• Attended a 9-day leadership camp at Pulau Ubin hosted by Outward Bound Singapore.Studied the scientific principles of fire investigation.• Gained exposure to Urban Search and Rescue operations (road traffic accidents, collapsed structures), HazMat incidents (toxic chemical releases, industrial fires), and marine firefighting (ships at berth).
