Heavy emphasis is placed on safety precautions, ordnance reconnaissance and identification, and use of EOD publications. The course provides comprehensive instruction in general demolition procedures. Additionally, the course deals with aspects of EOD operations in a chemical environment to include chemical agent identification and classification, calculations of chemical vapor hazard areas, personnel protection and protective clothing, operation of decontaminating stations, sealing of leaking munitions, and munitions identification.
