Graduate Teaching Assistant
Primary GTA for 3 courses, which involved grading, holding office hours, conducting lectures, interacting with and assisting students in CS 101 (Fall 2020), CS 352 (Spring 2020), and CS 502 (Fall 2021). CS 101 serves as an introduction to CS concepts including networking, basic computing, principles behind embedded systems, and more with the ultimate purpose to ensure digital literacy before students move into the more technical aspects of computer science. CS 352 is an upper division compilers course, where students build their own compiler in the C++ language and learn the fundamentals of compiler design. CS 502 is a graduate level compilers course, where the topics follow those in the undergraduate course, but delve more deep into the topics.
Flight Software Intern
Designed software to increase the likelihood of receiving vital telemetry during the first orbital flights of the Starship launch vehicle, including techniques such as the utilization of the TDRSS network and methods to receive telemetry during times of ground station blackout. These changes spanned across several large projects, and included changes to various software projects internal to SpaceX including flight software, ground software, and the Linux infrastructure.
Flight Software Intern
Developed, committed, and released software in an agile workflow. Worked on the new SpaceX flight vehicle Starship which involved writing tickets, taking the assignment of issues, and closing those issues all while maintaining high software reliability and effectiveness. Worked on all aspects of the agile software development cycle including planning, developing, testing, and releasing. Contributions included various quality of life improvements for on vehicle systems, as well as ground software to aid flight operators in monitoring the status of the vehicle while on the pad.The vast majority of development work was in C++ and Python.
Teaching Assistant
Responsible for grading, holding office hours, teaching class labs (20-30 students applying class concepts in an interactive setting), interacting with and assisting students in the CS160/161/162 courses. These three courses are the introductory classes for beginning Computer Science majors and are intended to be taken consecutively during the first year. Concepts range from an introduction to C++ to basic OOP concepts in C++ (polymorphism, inheritance, etc.)
Propulsion Intern
Continued development on the inducer design tool. Added many new features that both increase the reliability of the software and the usefulness of the tool. The features added included significant overhauls to the user interface, improvements of 3D representation, significant changes to underlying code structure, and other various enhancements that decreased the time spent to design an inducer while also improving ease of use.
Propulsion Intern
Developed software to design inducer blade geometry through the use of several key distributions (such as the meridional view, change in theta/beta. and others). Main purpose of this tool is to provide an alternative to ANSYS BladeGen for designing turbomachinery and will be used to design inducers at SpaceX. Primarily written in Python, utilizes Tk GUI interaction and OpenGL Python bindings to display the properties of the blade in an interactable 3D setting. After designing the geometry of the blade, the tool outputs files able to interface with various external CFD tools.
