I currently lead the Monitoring Tools team. We set up, maintain, support and develop the platform of the monitoring systems for a multitude of global customers. The team has been trained in Python, PHP, SQL, Linux and to expert vendor training certification to enable them to fully support the solution. Training continues in any discipline and to higher degrees to ensure that we're in the best position to be current with the times or ahead of the curve in an ever evolving technological world. We have implemented many automation functions and strive to continue to do so in order to improve the service, as well as platform stability. Until fairly recently, I ran four teams. I built the Security and Patch Management Team into a functional and process driven team and then relinquished it to a very capable promoted individual. I'm massively engaged with many other departments, from technical to support teams,; always with improvement as my goal. As a leader I have always made it clear that I am part of the team and not above it. I delegate to empower, not to offload. I take responsibility for any failures and immediately find mechanisms, whether technical or procedural, to enhance our service and I always give credit to the team or team members for successes.
