Worked alongside Dr. Brian Hutchinson and researchers from Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL) to develop a novel deep learning model for the detection of anomalous behavior in raw log line data. Culminated in the publication and presentation of "Recurrent Neural Network Language Models for Open Vocabulary Event-Level Cyber Anomaly Detection" at AAAI 2018 (https://arxiv.org/abs/1712.00557).• Developed and trained a recurrent neural network to convert English words to their phonetic representation, effectively doubling available data and allowing for use of richer, spontaneous speech corpora• Wrote Python scripts to efficiently manipulate and prepare vast quantities of data for both human interpretation and automated computation• Worked as a member of a small team in a technical setting to see an idea through its infancy and into the final stages of publication and presentation
