Hi, I am Ryan Barnett, a Senior at the University of Oklahoma (OU), pursuing a double major in Economics and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. My free time is spent interning locally, leading on campus, and finding new ways to enhance the student experience and quality of life.I currently serve as the President of the Interfraternity Council at OU and have served in several different public policy or government relations-related organizations throughout my time as a student. As a Research Intern for the Normans Economic Development Coalition, I gain hands-on experience in economic development and how the city intends to market Norman. Therefore, I also learn about the local political environment and institutional mechanisms that allow this community to thrive.To that end, my fervent drive for leadership, public service, and problem-solving is at the heart of everything I do. I remain dedicated to positive social and economic change and aspire to pursue a career in public service, community development, economic development, and political relations.
