I’m a web developer that accomplishes tech-based goals through interpersonal means. I love taking on challenges and utilizing myself and my team to accomplish it efficiently. My background in management has shown me versatility in work styles is vital to success and that there should be opportunities to enjoy work along the way.In college, I realized my love for language was real when I found myself conversing with non-native English speakers and feeling a great sense of enjoyment while doing so. This led me to major in Spanish with coursework in teaching - I wanted to recreate the excitement I felt while communicating with others in a new language. During this time I studied abroad in Granada, Spain, and it was truly life changing. The culture, people, and lifestyle there enriched my life and allowed me to grow.While in college, I continued to work full-time to support myself. Interestingly, I was able to continue using Spanish in my work as there were many non-native English speaking customers, and it felt thrilling to continue to use this tool I was cultivating. After graduation, I was promoted and I fully committed to the job. I learned a lot about working with people and utilizing what and who you have to run an effective store. I also learned the value of humor and laughter at work and began to make my daily goal finding new ways to make someone laugh and enjoy our time while helping customers.My hobbies are what led me to web development. I have always been into techy things, video games, and building computers. In the back of my mind, I always thought a career in a technical field would be an exciting shift for me. When my brother did a web development bootcamp a few years ago, I opened my mind to coding. The deciding moment for me was realizing the significant overlap between learning a spoken language and a coding language. My love for language and learning was revitalized and it was then I knew I had made the right decision. I look forward to melding together my experience in management with my other strengths in the tech field.
