In my current role with MathTV & XYZ Textbooks, I wear multiple hats that all contribute to crafting top-notch educational materials for college students. My main focus is on creating and enhancing content across statistics and algebra textbooks. This involves everything from writing new sections to developing comprehensive problem sets and unit tests. I also dive into the digital side by producing instructional videos that complement the answer keys in our e-books, making complex concepts more accessible and engaging for students.In addition to content creation, I play a crucial role in maintaining the high quality of our publications through meticulous copy editing. Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all books is a task I take seriously. Collaborating with college professors and textbook authors is another exciting aspect of my job, as we discuss and strategize on the publication of new texts or revisions. This dialogue not only helps in keeping our materials relevant and up-to-date but also enriches my understanding of the ever-evolving educational needs.

During my time at Flume Water, I've been applying my analytical skills to real-world datasets, significantly enhancing my understanding of water usage and conservation technologies. My initial project involved recreating a segment of the commonly used Tableau dashboard that Flume provides to utilities. This hands-on experience has allowed me to delve deep into the data, showcasing a number of statistics that are extremely valuable to water utilities.In addition to data visualization, I am actively employing machine learning techniques to develop predictive models that may prove invaluable to the company in the future. This work involves utilizing historical data to train models that predict trends and usage patterns, potentially transforming how Flume Water anticipates and manages water consumption.

In the TwinsZ.ai project, we leveraged Python to manage and integrate diverse datasets from CYDER, a tool tracking online behavior, and PRIZM, a consumer segmentation tool. Our task involved processing JSON data from AWS S3 buckets, with a strong emphasis on data privacy while extracting critical insights. We augmented our datasets through web scraping and API interactions, thereby improving the accuracy of the AI personas we developed. Proficient in Amazon AWS, we ensured secure data access in compliance with privacy and NDA requirements.Additionally, we employed advanced machine learning models and incorporated semantic analysis and RAG models to identify and target specific customer segments for various advertisers. This approach allowed us to refine AI personas that accurately mirrored nuanced consumer behaviors based on diverse data points such as age, job, and browsing history. The combination of these technologies enhanced our ability to deliver personalized user experiences, aligning perfectly with advertiser needs and project goals, all within a framework that prioritized user privacy and data integrity.

During our industry project through the Cal Poly MSBA program, my team and I partnered with Engie, a leading energy company, to develop a solution that would enhance their capabilities in predicting energy prices for buying and selling utilities. Our collaboration focused on utilizing advanced data analytics techniques such as forecasting, modeling, descriptive statistics, and predictive analytics.We meticulously analyzed the accuracy of models that forecasted future wind and solar energy generation, as well as demand in the Texas region. This involved conducting statistical analyses and developing machine learning models using Python and SQL, facilitated by robust data workflows in Dataiku and AWS SageMaker. The core of our project was translating complex data into an interactive dashboard. This tool was designed to present our findings in a user-friendly format, allowing Engie's senior energy data analysts to easily access insights and make informed decisions. Our efforts aimed at enhancing model efficiency not only provided immediate benefits in terms of operational optimization but also equipped Engie with a predictive tool to strategically navigate the volatile energy market.
