I aspire to become a sports and automotive media producer across multiple platforms, including social media, television, print, and other online platforms. I have a passion for both sports and automobiles and believe there are always both more stories that can be told and ways to tell more creative and engaging stories.I’m Ryan, a sophomore journalism student at Southern Illinois University, class of 2026, with a focus on sports writing and reporting as well as televising sports.I have worked as a reporter for The Daily Egyptian since February of 2023 and covered a variety of topics beyond just sports. Outside of writing, I work for Saluki Athletics, where I have been a camera operator, technical director, and graphics producer on dozens of ESPN+ telecasts and scoreboard productions of SIU sporting events. In addition to game day duties, I also work on creative content such as videos and graphics to display on the video board and to air on television. I also have experience beyond creative duties, as I was the public address announcer for basketball games in high school, announcing starting lineups and scorers throughout the game.I’m currently searching for opportunities to gain experience in game day operations through internships or freelance assignments, and am always open to conversations about connecting and partnerships.
