I started coaching hockey as an assistant in 2019, for a traveling team of kids aged 13-15. I did that for 2 seasons, which led me to start my own coaching practice where I began working for a local health club. There I was able to learn and cultivate my new coaching skills, and began to get an understanding for the human mindset, and how to make a difference for others. I am transitioning this year back to hockey as a head coach for the 19U girls team. I am excited for the new challenge and eager to see how my skills have improved as a coach after taking last year off from hockey.

After my 2 seasons on the Payette National Forest I moved regions to a 20 man crew with the Lewis and Clark Hotshots on the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. After my first season in 2017, where I was utilized in a variety of roles, I returned to the crew in 2018. The 2018 season proved to be my busiest yet, traveling to 5 different states and working more the 1000 hours of OT working in the forests. I was brought back as a permanent employee and spent the season as the lead saw team on the crew. It was our responsibility to ensure the product of fire line was appropriate as well as designating what hazard trees needed to be taken down. On the last assignment of the year I volunteered to be the Alpha module squad leader for our 9 day tour. This move ultimately helped me gain a larger spectrum of responsibility and leadership acumen.

In my fire offseason I have been working at the NRS warehouse picking orders and helping to ship out the daily haul of retail goods. I usually work a few months between fire seasons and have gone back for my 3rd season of picking.

As a wildfire technician I work on a 10 person hand crew on the Payette National Forest to aide in the suppression and prevention of wildfires. In the summer of 2015 I worked on 9 fire incidents including one in Alberta Canada as part of Payette Regulars roll. My roll on the crew this year included use of the chainsaw, pulaski and rhino tools, securing fire line perimeter. I also gained experience in fire monitoring and gathering weather data. Towards the end of the season, I detailed into a fuels project where I gained experience in collecting monitoring data for a pre burn in several different fuel models.
