While my career and education path have been atypical, I have learned so much by overcoming roadblocks and multitasking my way through college. I received an Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology degree from BYU-Idaho in 2022, and graduated with a B.S. in Applied Technology in July 2024.To maintain and learn new skills, I’ve built a home computer lab with Windows and Linux virtual machines. This project has helped me learn basic Active Directory administration as well as Windows and Linux system management and networking. Part of my homelab project has also been focused on practicing good data hygiene and keeping regular backups of all my systems. My consulting business gave me real-world experience in troubleshooting problems on Windows and macOS computers, as well as fixing connectivity issues with home and small-office printers. In school, I’ve gained experience writing Python and JavaScript programs and have even been able to build Python applications to address business needs at work.My career goal is to work in IT for companies and organizations that are focused on social impact, not profit. I am driven and motivated to use my skills and passion to make a difference in the world.
