Worked in the Office of Enforcement on several projects. First was to improve the office's knowledge management by helping them integrate new technology and fix many issues with the current system. I also used knowledge of lean six sigma to analyze an agency program and provide data-driven recommendations to help the process become more efficient and help the agency work towards goals mandated by recently passed legislation (the ADVANCE act). I also helped the Office of International Programs by writing internatinal briefing packages used by senior leadership as they travelled abroad to meet with delegates in Singapore, the Philippines, and Kenya.

Graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering studying the thermal conductivity of molten halide salts for use in the Molten Salt Nuclear Reactor. A custom made transient hot wire based device designed by a previous grad student was improved upon, increasing it's capabilities while also decreasing experimental uncertainty and decreasing run time. This was in part done by streamlining both the experimental and data analysis procedures and getting rid of potential sources of human error. Experimental measurements were made for three different previously unstudied molten salt mixtures. As future research involves measuring salts containing uranium, additional safety measures for working with radioactive materials were also implemented.

Engineering internship in the customer engineering department. Main responsibilities were to help meet the engineering needs of the our assigned customer, which included creating new part numbers, fulfilling part requests, pinpointing and solving issues with yield, and running experiments to identify root cause of issues our product was having infield. This included the use of FEA models to help with design and experimentation and becoming a six-sigma practioner.

Designing and prototyping a fluorescence based scanning thermal microscope using repurposed parts. This included working with CAD to design and 3D the housing and some of the mechanical components of the device, coding the electronics in Arduino, and designing new PCBs for the supporting electronics.

Built and installed art galleries for the campus art museum

Family business that I would help out with during the summer. Built and installed custom woodworking, namely cabinets and similar features, for both residential and commercial buildings.
