Since March 2019 I have been working for WSP as an Engineer in the highways team, bringing the experience gained to this new role, primarily working on the A9 Dualling Perth to Inverness. Through collaboration with members of other design teams involved in highways projects, I have gained experience and understanding covering multiple disciplines in the highways sector to better inform my design ethos, reduce the potential for clashes between designs, and generally improve interdisciplinary communication.

I joined AECOM in July 2016 as a Graduate Engineer in the Strategic Highways business line, based in the Citypoint office in Glasgow During my time with AECOM, I have assisted at variuos levels in the development of drainage designs as part of road improvement schemes for local authorities and major public sector clients. I have acquired valuable design experience on projects such as the M42 Junction 6 Improvement Scheme; B9090 White Bridge Realignment; and M181 Terminal Junction. Using AutoCAD and WinDes design software, I have been responsible for the development of detailed drainage designs and modelling work as well as the drawing, scheduling and specification this entails. I have also been involved in the preparation of strategy reports, technical notes, and project plans to define client expectations on current projects. Through collaboration with members of other design teams involved in highways projects, I have gained experience covering multiple disciplines in the highways sector to better inform my design ethos and help reduce the potential for clashes between designs. The knowledge and transferable skills acquired allow me to adapt to new challenges in the future.

My role was to make improvements to the hazardous waste management system at the plant and identify opportunities for reduction at the point of generation; reuse within the production system/plant itself; and recycling at the disposal stage. All of this was to bring the plant in line with GSK's global "Zero to landfill" targets.

Worked in the company’s Central Reservations Office; ie the call centre. I was to liaise between the customer and the hotel of their choice, or one I would recommend based on their given criteria, either via the booking system or via contacting the hotel directly and inform them of any terms & conditions and/or conditions of payment. Responsibilities: Dealt with incoming calls & enquiries as well as outbound calls – ie ensured the office’s email inbox was taken care of and made call backs as required. This also includes those customers who left messages on the answering machine.Ensured the business and customers’ needs were met on all occasions.Provided a very high standard of customer service at all times.Meet & greet guests who hand delivered paperwork directly into the call centre.Maintain call centre targets and other key performance indicators consistently.
