As a Regional Medical Advisor within the Medical Affairs division, my role is to support the healthcare community of the North West of England. My focus is with Diabetes, alongside cardiorenal disease and obesity. I am tasked with developing and delivering regional medical advisory services tailored to these areas, ensuring that healthcare professionals have a comprehensive understanding of the scientific basis and clinical relevance.I am responsible for fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector, including healthcare institutions and prominent individuals. My doctoral research involved synthetic biology, genetics, and multi-omic approaches to elucidate the mechanisms of ageing and organelle homeostasis. I used system-wide high throughput profiling to delve into the complex processes at play in these areas. My research has the potential to add a new layer of intrigued into the complex interrelationship of the mitochondria and the autophagy machinery, with the long term goal of understanding mitochondrial disease in ageing.
