PRIMARY DUTIES:>> Oversees, supports and is a liaison for a collect freight consolidation initiative spanning three warehouse facilities and five private fleet operations.>> Designs and maintains various Power BI dashboards for internal viewing using ODBC connectivity and/or ETL processes involving SAS and Hadoop Hive in order to generate constant and actionable data-driven insights to staff and management. Practical examples include a Transport Carrier Performance Scorecard, Spot Market Activity Board, Shipment Origin Routing Interactive Map, Private Fleet Tendering Metric Board as well as several others.>> Leverages various database and business intelligence programs to further business objectives. This frequently involves one or more of the following: querying data using SQL, analyzing/visualizing data using SAS, Power BI and/or Tableau, discerning patterns and/or presenting recommendations to either management and/or internal parties for further action.SECONDARY DUTIES:>> Routes purchase order pickups for several collect suppliers via Blue Yonder TMS (Smartbench module)>> Serves as TMS support for inbound domestic transportation to help provide and implement quick and practical solutions to TMS problems not requiring IT involvement.

This frequently involved one or more of the following: querying data using SQL, analyzing/visualizing data using SAS, Power BI and/or Tableau, discerning patterns and/or presenting recommendations to either management and/or internal parties for further action.>> Published various Tableau dashboards for internal viewing using back-end ETL processes involving SAS and Hadoop Hive in order to generate constant and actionable data-driven insights to management, both at a executive level as well as operational level (depending on the project).>> Acted as the main point of contact for matters involving import letters of credit (L/C's) for Walgreen import shipments to the USA and Puerto Rico. This included but was not limited to L/C requests, amendments, discrepancies, metrics, reporting and payment issue resolution.>> Acted as an "Air Traffic Controller" for supply chain issues impacting finance units, frequently routing issues and facilitating issue resolution for situations impacting many stakeholders.>> Ran and disseminated weekly inventory order tracking reports to enhance order visibility.SECONDARY DUTIES:>> As needed, gathered documents for and filed AES export customs filings for shipments moving outbound from USA to Puerto Rico and St. Thomas destinations.>> As time permitted, taught occasional SQL classes at Walgreens ranging from basic to advanced. PRIMARY DUTIES:>> Ensured efficient flow of inbound import cargo to all USA and Puerto Rico distribution centers, maximizing inventory availability and cost savings throughout the Walgreens distribution network.>> Was involved in and was a key driving force in several initiatives geared toward improving processes within the Walgreens import supply chain network.>> Completed daily tasks related to operational flow at our import deconsolidation facility, including shipment data entry into AS400 (outbound side) and generated import container deconsolidation allocations for incoming freight (inbound side).>> Minimized detention and demurrage costs by monitoring empty container call out communications and working with the distribution centers to receive containers in a timely fashion.>> Reviewed detention invoices for accuracy and disputed charges as necessary.>> Distributed weekly container pipeline reports to our drayage service providers regarding direct import containers inbound to ocean ports and inland railroad hubs.>> Calculated monthly transit times for all import lanes to assist inventory personnel in scheduling purchase order ready dates for vendors at origin points.>> Approved/denied origin freight forwarder bookings from low-volume origin points to ensure efficient use of container space and minimize costs.SECONDARY DUTIES:>> As needed, reviewed vendor letter of credit requests and issued them accordingly.
