I am a student, researcher, and advocate dedicated to making a positive change through policy and organizing work in my community. While dually enrolled as a public high school and community college student in 2018, I helped to found Welcoming Neighbors Home (WNH), an initiative to address homelessness and the high cost of housing in Orange County. I continue to serve on the leadership team of WNH today, and have expanded my advocacy impact through my work as Chief of Higher Education Policy for Generation Up, California’s largest youth-led education advocacy organization. I have also gained experience with policy through my studies at Claremont McKenna College as a Public Policy and International Relations major, and through my work as a Student Manager at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government. Much of my research has centered on the issue of housing affordability, including a report I wrote while living in Helsinki, Finland as an Appel Fellow on the country's innovative “Housing First” solution to homelessness. In addition to my previous research on local, state, and international policies, I gained experience in federal policy making as a Government Relations Intern for the Space Foundation last summer. I plan to continue studying, researching, and advocating for policy that will make a positive impact for people in my community, the state of California, and our nation at large.
