I am an aspiring School Counselor to work at a K-12 or college/university setting in or near Santa Cruz, CA. My passion for counseling comes from my interest in higher education, K-12, student success, student safety, and student well-being. Being a talented student-athlete (baseball player) throughout my youth and undergraduate career has introduced me to many diverse people. I am privileged to have had many experiences where I connected, bonded, and formed lifelong relationships with just about everyone I meet. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoy making a positive impact on our youth as well as adult students where I can actively listen and guide them through academic, emotional and psychological issues. I firmly believe that a good education not only requires good teachers, but exceptional counselors to be there for them in the many hurdles that may occur in one's academic journey. The Department of Counselor Education (EDCO) program at San Jose State University and my previous work experiences have reinforced my passion further to counsel students. As a recent graduate of the M.A. / PPS EDCO program, I will continue to strive in succeeding as a counselor in both the classroom and my professional work experiences. I am excited and blessed to be at this point in my educational journey where I love what I do and can make an impact on our future generation of students.
