About Ryan Nugent

I am a content executive working in entertainment and tech companies to be at the forefront of the evolving entertainment content and creator landscape. Currently, I lead content strategy for entertainment within the Metaverse team at Meta. Previously, I was VP of Content Strategy, Marketing & Insights at Gunpowder & Sky - an entertainment studio that produces and distributes feature films, short-form IP, podcasts, and OTT channels. I led marketing for all content, developed business models, and built audiences, creator communities, and revenue across several platforms. I launched two successful O&O properties (DUST and ALTER) that reach millions of fans and act as IP incubators with creators for the studio. At YouTube, I wrote the inaugural 'YouTube Creator Playbook', advised hundreds of entertainment partners, and worked with product and data science teams to develop creator insights. My career began building one of the pioneer online video companies, Next New Networks - acquired by YouTube in 2011.
