I have held many different positions in the U.S. Army. This included performing duties as an individual member of a squad to leading training projects for a regional area of operations. My experience included two Combat tours to Iraq. Initially, I was a member of a small team designed to improve quality of life for region locals and U.S. Personnel through U.S. Army Engineering efforts during the 2003 - 2004 invasion of Iraq. Later, in 2009, I ran the Base Defense Operations Center on my second tour on the Theater Headquarters, Victory Base Complex, during the beginning of the drawdown of U.S. Forces in the region.The common theme throughout my career was the involvement in operations. This incorporated writing mission plans, operations orders and coordinating efforts throughout the process of mission planning and execution. Specific training was incorporated from lessons learned on the battlefield into stateside training. This training prepared Soldiers for their combat duties whether performing individual tasks or working as a regional level team. Countless hours were spent planning, prepping, rehearsing and executing missions until cohesive performance achieved the desired results of readiness.I've been fortunate enough to have performed as an individual member of a small team and to have progressed to being a leader of a regional team. Many of the lessons and wisdom learned from these experiences are incorporated into my work ethics and processes today.
