I believe activists, investors, government officials, and residents themselves—united—have the power to imagine a world where we center the public in public service and public finance.As co-founder of five mission-driven social enterprises—including a racial equity consulting practice, and more recently an investment research firm combining ESG investing and racial justice—I’ve spent my career putting that belief to the test.At Activest, the world’s first fiscal justice investment firm, I co-designed a business strategy with the goal of changing the $4 trillion municipal bond market for good—recognizing that communities who treat their residents fairly have better long-term financial outcomes.Together, we built a model that blended public finance and municipal investments with a strategic approach to community organizing and advocacy—creating a national network of allied investors and advocacy organizations that informed an investment product supporting more sustainable, racially just communities.Earlier, I served as co-founder and senior partner at Frontline Solutions, a national management consulting firm that pioneered an equity-centered approach to working with nonprofits and foundations.Clients included Ford Foundation, Gates Foundation, Knight Foundation, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Rockefeller Foundation, as well as Color of Change and Center for Popular Democracy. Services included strategic planning, civic engagement, and organizational development with a racial equity lens.I began my career as a program officer at Public / Private Ventures, and community engagement lead in the Mayor of Philadelphia’s Office of Education. I represented the Mayor’s Office at rallies and legislative meetings, fighting for the statewide coalition of cities advocating for a fair school funding formula.Perhaps I’ve most enjoyed serving as a connector, peer, resource, and sounding board for communities, advocates, and other national leaders in the field of social change.BOARD & COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP: Appointments include service on the National Federation of Municipal Analysts' DEI Steering Committee, Impact PHL's Education Committee, and Greenlight Fund Philadelphia's Selection Advisory Counsel. Additionally, I served on a working group for the Racial Justice Investing Coalition, and as school board director for Kennett Consolidated School District.
