I examine the ethical and policy implications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cyberwar, killer robots and autonomous vehicles.• Help define the priorities of the Group, identifying grant opportunities, research areas, and strategic academic and private partnerships.• Employ standard qualitative research strategies such as literature reviews and interviews to produce both academic and public articles, in venues including Slate and Forbes.• Synthesize insights from multiple sources into concrete, ethically informed and technically sound policy recommendations cited by academia and in the popular press.• Plan and facilitate expert meetings related to autonomous cars and cyberwarfare, including at Stanford University and the United States Naval Academy. Attendees have included participants from the private sector, academia and government, including the UN and NSA.• Work with an international team of experts across disciplines and universities, including collaboration with Stanford and the Naval Academy to forecast ethical challenges of autonomous vehicles and cyberwarfare.• Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert on autonomous systems and cyberwarfare for organizations including Apple and the New America Foundation. Produce recommendations for National Science Foundation's interdisciplinary research funding priorities.

Design, develop, and serve as the instructor of record for philosophy classes including technology ethics and military ethics, for 270+ students per year.• Conduct academic research, publishing articles in reputable journals on topics including autonomous weapons and cyber warfare.• Currently teaching a "Philosophy of the Internet" class, which I designed, on topics including social media addiction, filter bubbles and the ethical obligations of social media companies.• Consistently receive superlative teaching reviews from students and faculty; acknowledged by Department as responsive to student interests and learning styles.

Oversee online fundraising efforts and donor outreach, donor and press databases, email marketing and print and web design.• Implement new website and blog interface and wrote blog posts on wrongful convictions and criminal justice.• Managed social media presence, including Twitter, Facebook and Change.org.
