Worked in the vascular mechanics research lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Studied the effects of stress, strain, loads, and pressures on the mechanical properties of carotid arteries and lymphatic vessels. Recorded data on the resulting diameter of each vessel due to changes in pressure and pulsating flow through them. Responsible for imaging the network of the vessels' collagen and elastin using a confocal microscope. This research required knowledge in MATLAB, stress/strain tensors, pressure gradients, and microscopy. I was required to compile the data outputted from MATLAB and presented the data to the laboratory. The findings were published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface.
