At NCSU, I have taken courses for Hydraulics, Statics, Mechanics of Solids, Engineering Materials Science, Principles of Environmental Engineering, and Introduction to Traffic Engineering. These classes have provided me with the fundamentals of civil engineering, and I am currently taking Hydrology and Urban Water Systems, Surveying, and Thermodynamics to expand my knowledge and prepare me to join the workforce. Throughout my time at NC State, I have solved engineering problems through the use of Python and Excel.I am an aspiring design professional with expertise in AutoCAD and Civil3D. I have drafted land development site plans and alignments for small facilities using Civil3D. I have compiled and formatted details and prepared sheet sets for printing in AutoCAD. I have also taken a professional LinkedIn course on the fundamentals of Civil3D as well as an AutoCAD Graphics class at NCSU. This training has provided me with high attention to detail.I started, led, and completed a triple dam emergency action plan (EAP) using GeoHECRAS to model and simulate dam breaches. I took initiative by contacting the GeoHECRAS support team for assistance utilizing StreamStats and ArcGIS data to increase model accuracy. I researched contact information for affected parcels using county GIS systems. I finished the EAP and sent it to the NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for review. I received approval from the state two days later for all 3 dams. I hope to join a team of like-minded individuals who collaborate and support each other to achieve common goals. Communication is very important to me, and I appreciate the efficiency that is delivered through honesty amongst my colleagues. When it comes to projects, I am a closer; asking questions as needed and aiming ahead of deadlines. I rigorously maintain my personal health, and stay patient and optimistic in stressful situations. I am open minded and love to be challenged to grow in uncomfortable environments.
