Just a small (~20,000 bottle) winery in DO Montsant, on the edge of Priorat, in Spain.

Combining two of my favorite things (technology and beer) this startup has allowed me to explore new technologies and continue honing my product design skills all while serving an industry that is ripe for innovation.

Overseeing three teams of engineers in NYC and one team in Guangzhou, China, my role was to provide technical leadership over one of The Knot's most important business units.

Co-founder who built the original prototype apps, pitched to investors, secured funding, and then scaled and grew both the product and the team. My role was part leader, part developer, part engineering manager, part product manager, part business strategist, and full-time insomniac.

This was my passion project. I was fortunate enough to be President, a role I held for nearly 3 years. Flying Bike is Washington's first cooperative brewery and now has over 1,800 member-owners. I've had my hands in everything from strategy, to fundraising, to business development, to lease negotiation, to brewery design and lots more. I left the President role in 2015 to focus on other interests and maintained a position on the board until 2016.

Bringing stories to life.

At PlaceFull, I led product design, managed the development team and processes, architected scalability improvements, designed highly scalable infrastructure (AWS) and transaction security, contributed to feature development and built mobile apps (iOS and Android). I also led sales and marketing strategy discussions and acted as a business advisor.

X2 Biosystems is a Seattle-based startup building concussion detection devices for use in sports. I led development for the web-based portal and data-warehouse delivered as part of a contract with the NFL.

Jumyo was a mobile startup I co-founded. We built a collaborative, photo and narrative based storytelling platform and community. We released our first iPhone app in November 2012, but we failed to gain the market and investment traction we were hoping for.

Promethean creates leading edge, interactive learning technology and encourages the growth of the world's largest online teacher community in this field. Promethean is helping bring to life the promise of 21st century learning, improving engagement and results for learners and teachers alike. SynapticMash was a Seattle-based education startup specializing in web-based assessment, social networking and data analytics. My role helped see the company through acquisition by Promethean in 2010.- Product Development Lead for several small product teams.- Architect for user experience in all products- Participated in due diligence interviews during our acquisition process.- Design and development of user interfaces- Developing system framework and application architecture

As a technology consulting firm, Explore Consulting provides a variety of software solutions for a client list that includes: Microsoft, The Onion, Dash Navigation, National Football Scouting, Valve Software, and Safeco. Explore specializes in custom .NET application development and data integration services interfacing with NetSuite.- Lead architect and developer for the Data Integration Module (DIM): a flexible framework for data integration processes. Led training and development review sessions for customer projects.- Led design and architecture meetings for new projects, requirements gathering and estimation- Developed a reusable, WCF library to speed up custom development projects.- Moved team towards more efficient and organized development practices, focusing on architecture, design patterns, version control and documentation.- Communicated and coordinated with clients, partners and vendors.

Moxie Business Advisors services a number of small to mid-size companies in the Seattle area, providing productivity-enhancing custom application development.- Developed a modular ASP.NET application framework to increase the efficiency of building custom web applications. - Developed an extensive ASP.NET web control library that utilized emerging AJAX technologies. The library utilized AJAX to provide an extremely responsive user experience that was otherwise unavailable. - Architected middleware component to interface between .NET applications and an agnostic reporting platform. - Consulted and provided design and development assistance for a variety of client projects.
