Passive Sonar Processing– Implemented production software for passive detection capabilities, targeting multiple platforms.– Assisted with planning and constructing full processing strings, from beamforming to providing updates for the end user.Acoustic Communications (ACOMMS)– Optimized and generalized existing ACOMMS decoding software for multiple target platforms; developed extensive unit and integration tests.– Wrote a simulation for incoming ACOMMS signals to aid in developing the decoding software.– Developed an application to manage incoming ACOMMS signals.Factory Acceptance Testing– Developed software for characterizing sensitivity and beamforming capabilities of sonar receiving arrays.– Formed acceptance criteria and assisted in creating testing procedures for several arrays.Interface Simulators– Developed interface simulators, with GUI's, for obstacle avoidance sonar systems, to be used during system development and integration testing.

Digital Signal Processing– Developed and tested an identification method for beta-decay detections with multiple signals in a single time-series waveform, making use of a number of convolution filters; simulated data to determine efficiency.– Developed and studied several methods for extracting parameters associated with a waveform; e.g. energy, time delay, etc.Online Analysis Software for Multiple Beta-Decay Experiments– Full-stack development, including GUI to track many aspects of each experiment while data is being collected, offering user-defined plots and fitting routines.– Developed an algorithm for particle identification, used to discriminate between decay products.– Developed an analysis routine that allows for the extraction of the electron-antineutrino correlation coefficient while the experiment is online, making use of a mapping of observables from simulation.– Organized and led weekly analysis meetings at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
