Ryan Singh aka Nigel Ryan has been an actor for more than 20 years. He began acting on stage from an early age, working with some of Guyana’s top actors. When he came to Canada, Ryan went to school to further develop his studies while doing some stage productions. In 2000, Ryan graduated from film school where he honed his skills as an actor, director and producer. He formed his company Ryan Singh Enterprises in 2001, a for-profit multifaceted production company, producing stage plays, short films, commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, music videos and feature films. In 2006, Ryan formed the not-for-profit organization Roots International Arts Theatre, Inc through which more than 6 productions have been produced in Canada and Guyana. Roots Theatre has also sponsored several workshops over the years including the notable Tom Todoroff Workshop, and Talent Unleashed. As a director, Ryan has worked with such projects as Curse of Ham, Sweet Sweet Karaila, and Sex, Relationships and Sometimes...Love for stage. As a producer, Ryan is an integral player within the Canadian independent film and TV arenas working with such organizations as Reelworld Film Festival, Caribbean Tales, Scarlett Media, while consulting for a wider film market across Canada, LA, New York, Philadelphia, and the Caribbean. As a coach and facilitator, Ryan has worked with such actors as Eli Goree (Da Kink in my Hair, Soul), Beverley Ellis (222, Forensic Factor), Darren Anthony (Secrets of a Black Boy), Ngozi Paul (Da Kink in my Hair), Chantel Quibell and many others.
