I am currently working in Rescate Wildlife Center, Costa Rica, as the assistant manager. Here my primaryroles are the care and husbandry of mammals and reptiles, along with coordinating interns. As assistantmanager I help managers in their roles, and have extensively helped out in the primate department.Daily tasks include, diet preparation, making and implementing enrichment, animal training,behavioural observations and providing educational talks for interns. I have recently started clickertraining a Tyra, with the purpose for recall, along with station training squirrel monkeys and assisting inrecall training for capuchins. I also spent time working in Bosque Escondido, one of the release sites forthe centre. Here I participated in Primate behavioural and observational studies for capuchins, howlersand spider monkeys, making tailored specific ethograms and zoo-monitor programs. I am also currentlyassisting in the pre-release care for three juvenile howler monkeys, implementing enrichment andmonitoring behaviour with their environment and wild howlers in the area.

During my four month stay at Yana Cocha Wildlife Sanctuary, I immersed myself in the daily care andhusbandry of various animal groups, including Monkeys, Mammals, Carnivores, Birds, and Clinic andQuarantine. My responsibilities encompassed a wide range of tasks, from preparing feed andmaintaining animal enclosures to monitoring behaviour, implementing enrichment and assisting inveterinary procedures. Notably, I gained valuable experience in the care of juvenile animals including asaki monkey, spider monkey, tamarins, hawks and otters. I played a key role in the training of Spix NightMonkeys, employing target training techniques to minimise stress during veterinary check-ups.Additionally, I actively participated in the release of numerous animals, including sloths, turtles, boas,and jungle rats, fostering their successful return to their natural habitats.
