About S P.
S P. is a Process Engineer at Sandia National Laboratories at Sandia National Laboratories. Colleagues describe them as "Para is one of the most honest, hard working, intelligent, forthright and congenial persons I know. While working at Philips Semiconductors he was able to improve an APCVD process that had poor uptime and process control to a robust and reliable process. He does this repeatedly in each assignment he is given. He is humble yet sticks to his guns with conviction when his viewpoint/position is correct. I recommend him with the highest regard for his integrity and technical… Show more" and "I worked with Para at Intel. In spite of the fast pace and high pressure at Intel he always took the time to explain things to me. He was extremely knowledgable about semiconductor processes."

Principal Integration Engr.
Process Engineer
Principal Integration Engineer – Oct.2007 to Feb.2010• Managed the technical aspects of transferring an R&D project into a high volume production line. Specific duties included monitoring electrical and line yields, performing the Failure Analysis on fall-outs, and, developing preventive actions. Presented weekly status updates to the external customers who were funding the program.* Successfully performed the Characterization and Reliability tests stipulated in the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) standards for the space qualification of solar cells. Process Development Engineer – Oct.2006 to Oct.2007• Developed Plating and Sputtering processes for Unifacial Solar Cells.* Optimized the sheet resistance, stress and adhesive properties of the films without affecting the overall bow of the cell, through Design of Experiments and Statistical Analysis using JMP software. Integrated these processes into a manufacturing flow and made them self-sustaining through the use of Statistical Process Control and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs). • Developed in-house titration procedures to monitor the composition of the Plating bath that resulted in a savings of $1200/- per month.• Redesigned the wafer mask to add one more cell per wafer. A potential increase of $440/- per wafer.
Integration Engineer
C4 and ILD Integration Engineer. – Feb.2004 to Oct.2006• Resolved any outgoing quality issues as the primary liaison between the Fabrication facilities and Intel’s assembly sites in China, Malaysia, Philippines and Costa Rica. Chaired the world wide weekly meetings for the far back end process areas, to develop solutions to issues in quality and prevention of process excursions.• Individually led diverse teams in designing experiments, drove root cause failure analysis of process excursions in Inter Layer Dielectrics (CVD and CDO), and, Controlled Collapse Chip Connect (C4) (Passivation, PI, BLM, Plating, Etch and Reflow) modules. • Served as the technical authority for a diverse group of process engineers and ensured that process changes in the far back end segment of the factory were properly implemented based on statistical data, and the performance was monitored diligently thereafter.• Evaluation and implementation of SPARK (a new polyimide) on P1263 products. (7 different geometries and Packages) to save $ 2 million per quarter.• Taught courses in Far Back End Processing to peers and new hires.• Taught courses in processing inter layer dielectrics to process engineers and manufacturing technicians.
Process Engineer
Thin Films and Diffusion Process Engineer. – Aug. 1987 to Jan. 2001• Developed and sustained processes in Thin Films and Diffusion, in the 100mm,150mm and 200mm fabs.• Developed, characterized and implemented a SOG module into production.• Characterized and implemented barrier metal schemes on the ENDURA, MRC and GENUS.• Investigated the capacitance characteristics of several passivation dielectrics.• Characterized and implemented PSG and BPSG process schemes into production for device shrinks.• Identified the root cause of PCM failures and implemented corrective measures to prevent repetition.
