Direct the operations of the Physical Education Activity Program (PEAP) in the Departmentof Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies (KRSS). Serves as the supervisor for approximately 43 graduate student positions within the department, and evaluates the effectiveness of operations in regard to strategic plan, directing changes as necessary to align with department mission.

HFT 4945 RHM InternshipStudents have the opportunity to relate theory to practice through observation and work experience at approved/ designated industry organizations. Students work for a minimum 500 hours to 1500 hours for the employer, and may elect to diversify their internship experiences with more than one organization. Students will be graded by the faculty taking into account the grade the employer representative assigns the student for the internship effort and internship paper and experience requirements.IDS 3920 University ColloquiumThe University Colloquium brings together students from all five colleges in a series of interdisciplinary learning experiences. These experiences are designed to address the ecological perspective outcome in relations to other university outcomes and guiding principles. Critical thinking and communication skills will be enhanced through field trips, discussion, projects, and a journal to be maintained by each student.SLS 1501 Effective Learning (student-athletes)SLS 1501 Effective Learning (academic recovery)Development of strategies for success in higher education. Course includes assessment of individual learning styles and practical application to time management; effective note-taking; study and testing habits; and use of information resources.

-Advised students and student-athletes in all sports in areas of: registration; degree auditing; grade forgiveness; class planning; transient student approvals/procedures; selecting and changing majors; admission procedure; graduation application process; degree evaluation and what-if analysis tools.-Certified degrees following the close of each term for assigned degree programs. -Represented the School of Resort & Hospitality Management and the Lutgert College of Business during transfer orientations, presenting university and college requirements, answering questions, and registering students.-Completed phone orientations for distance learning students, then devised and implemented an online orientation for greater efficiency.-Completed and submitted the student-athlete Continuing Eligibility Certifications and Transfer Evaluation Form spreadsheets to the athletic department for student-athletes in assigned majors.-Used Banner software in all academic advising functions.-Served on numerous university committees and collaborated with multiple departments on campus.-Assisted in data collection and reporting in the successful accreditation effort for the School of Resort & Hospitality Management.

-Served on executive leadership team-Oversaw all safety operations and loss control for roofing company.-Trained all new employees and retrained existing employees in all areas of safety.-Monitored and enforced OSHA regulations with daily random work site inspections. -Inspected all accidents and workers’ compensation claims.-Trained employees on use and care of company equipment.-Compiled and reported all workers’ compensation data, including loss runs.-Represented company in workers’ compensation mediations and court proceedings.-Established Material Safety Data Sheet notebook and training.-Revised and implemented the company Safety Plan.-Corresponded with contracting companies regarding company Safety Plan, MSDS books, and documented training.

-Hired and supervised multiple employees within the golf course including cart staff, rangers, snack bar support staff, and pro shop support staff.-Directed and assisted in numerous golf tournaments, including the Gator Invitationals, Gator Golf Day, and the 2005 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships East Regional.-Coordinated wholesale purchasing and retail sales of pro shop inventory.-Oversaw daily golf course operations collaboratively with director of golf, coaching staffs, and course superintendent.-Oversaw facility and equipment management, including: building cleaning and maintenance; tracking and maintaining course-owned equipment; supervising the use and care of pro shop, restaurant, cart barn, and driving range equipment.-Helped to ensure course operations met the practice and competitive events needs of the University of Florida Men’s and Women’s golf teams.-Assisted in the development and implementation of a severe weather evacuation plan for tournaments and everyday play.-Served on Product Review Committee, reviewing potential products for licensing.-Developed and implemented a membership recruitment plan and website.-Assisted the Director of Golf with instructing the Golf for Business courses.-Represented the University Athletic Association at the 2005 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.-Assisted operation of numerous NCAA cross-country events, including the 2005 NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship.
