Responsible for the management and development of the membership and conferences business for a not-for-profit professional body.Key achievements:• Turned the flagship annual conference from a loss leader in 2009 to a profit making conference within 2 years, this event now delivers a gross profit margin of 35%• Successfully bid for and hosted the profession’s International conference for the first time in the UK attracting over 700 delegates from around the world• Increased membership by 5%-10% year on year• Increased attendance at the flagship annual conference by 22%Duties include:• Budget setting, monitoring and management • Providing regular reports to BOHS Council meetings and senior management• Management, recruitment and motivation of volunteers to support membership and conferences activities• Recruitment, objective setting and performance management of the membership and conferences team• Delivering the content and development of the website including the membership database and associated processes• Management of the Regional Network and its activities

Part of my role at BOHS was to fulfil the contractual obligations of secretariat services to the International Occupational Hygiene Association of which BOHS is a founding member.• Plan and organise two international board meetings a year one of which will include the AGM and ensure compliance with the Articles of Association at all times including nominations to the Officer roles• Provide all secretarial support to those meetings• Manage all communications between the 30 Board members from 28 different countries• Maintain and manage the IOHA website• Coordinate and distribute the IOHA newsletter• Set, manage and monitor the annual company budget• Responsible for all income and expenditure in line with budgets and financial procedures including Companies House filing and accounts auditing
