To Supervise, maintain, and upgrade the laboratory facilities under the Central Laboratories Directorate of University of Sharjah, support faculty and students in the use of Laboratory equipment as well as safely test the labs and assure proper functioning of facilities, materials and equipment.Major responsibilities are mentioned below:• Manage and supervise the Central Labs facilities by making sure that the equipment and utilities are in good working order and recommend improvement as appropriate to maintain standards of accuracy and reliability.• Ensure that all related maintenance and troubleshooting of the lab equipment are carried out effectively and professionally.• Maintain pre-installation requirements for all lab equipment and make sure their implementation correctly.• Collaborate with different academic programs and research institutions regarding installation. maintenance and contract renewals related to their lab equipment.• Maintain and update laboratory inventory by requesting laboratory equipment, consumables, and furniture as per the required specifications.• Manage external contractors/suppliers’ operations in the lab, carry out quality inspections on jobs and prepare technical reports.• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures set by UOS as well as respond appropriately to emergencies as they arise.• Handle the computer aided facility management Central Lab software for all maintenance and new installation activities.• Generate relevant reports and ensure that they are prepared timely and accurately and meet the department's requirement and standards.
