Serve as primary interviewer and provide project support to search teams. This includes building a diverse candidate pool, through sourcing, creating client materials, such as interview guides and candidate management, through active communication.

Member of a Diversity Equity & Inclusion council that seeks to inform the work of the organization both internally and externally. Chair of Talent committee working to inform the work of the Recruitment and Human Assets teams.

Design and lead free workshops for educators to gain new leadership and advocacy skills. These include Op-Ed writing and media engagement, stakeholder relations, schools based leadership and union engagement.

Geographical areas include Downtown Brooklyn, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, East New York and Brownsville. Policy - Inform educators and communities about various Education Policies in order to elevate their voice. Campaigns include Common Core, Every Student Succeeds Act, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Student Discipline Code and School Climate. Advocacy - Organize educators to take advocacy actions such as writing testimonies supporting Restorative Justice practices, collecting signatures to encourage the Mayor and Chancellor to take action on Desegregation, collect surveys on Teacher Preparation programs & Professional Development and meeting with elected leaders.Event Planning - Build and run events ranging from small school based events to large scale networking events throughout Brooklyn. Communications - Use of online Google platforms and Campaign Monitor to design monthly newsletters and communicate updates to educators.Data Analysis - Use of Salesforce in analyzing data and trends.

Conducted prospect research and assisted in building donor profiles.

Managed a teacher resident working with elected officials to improve teacher training and development.

Certified Educator in Secondary Science. Taught High School Biology and Anatomy.Selected and fully funded to present a new project idea at the Connecticut Student Innovation Exposition.Member of the Teacher Action Team with Educators for Excellence. Participated in research, writing and presentation of policy recommendations titled “It Takes a Village: Improving School Climate and Student Discipline in New Haven Public Schools.”Co-Advisor for the Gay Straight Alliance student organization. Participated in activities to bring about awareness of bullying and inequalities in student’s lives.Co-Advisor for HOSA-Future Health Professionals. Assisted students in attending conferences and hosting events.

Selected to join Teach For America to teach in under-resourced public schools. Taught High School Biology and Anatomy at an inner city New Haven Public School.Attended Corps Members of Color conference to improve culturally responsive teaching in the classroom.Chair of Education on the New Haven City Committee.
