I started my journey in tech as a Network Engineer for one of the largest asset management companies in the world, State Street Corp. My team and I were tasked with datacenter migrations that involved cutting over servers traversed by a total of 3.1 trillion dollars, without any downtime. After that, I moved to PayPal’s mobile payment division in Boston, MA, where I was in charge of setting up the firewall and network infrastructure for a new DR site.Outside of work, my biggest passion lies in fitness. I have been training for the last several years and I have competed multiple times in the USAPL, America’s drug-free federation for powerlifting. While competing, I realized I wanted to contribute to this relatively niche sport - one way to do that would be to create apps dedicated to not only powerlifters but also the general population that has seen a boom in fitness trends in the past few years. This aspiration led me to pursue coding through Lighthouse Labs’ 3 month-long intense, immersive Bootcamp learning HTML/CSS including responsive design, FE/BE using JS, React, Express, Postgres, Ruby on Rails, automated testing, computer science fundamentals, and much more. I’ve been hooked ever since and would like to hone my skills by working for a company where my mettle is tested, while continuing to give back, using my coding skills, to the sport that has given me so much.
