There is no user manual guiding the road to recovery.Instead, each patient first enters the clinic at their story's start, and it is my job to inform doctors how to help patients reach their happy ending. In other words, I devote my experience to learning the power of diagnostic technology to create a patient’s “user manual.”In healthcare, error codes get replaced by lab tests: what abnormalities are in a patient’s tissue? My bone marrow-on-a-chip research at the George Lab goes one step further: what changes do these abnormalities cause in the immune system? Each donor reacts differently, changing the microfluidic environment's white blood cell production. I now seek to understand the mechanisms behind these changes to offer new drug therapy targets. The complementary approach is imaging: what information is present that hides from the naked eye? My research at the NIH positions me at the forefront of introducing infrared imaging to medicine. Due to the recent improvements in IR’s specifications, my research assesses its utility in quantifying autoimmune disease inflammation. Simultaneously, to develop my algorithm, I leverage my background in MATLAB and Python to study the implementation of machine learning in radiology. My motivation in studying technology stems from my dream to create a medical device startup. I value the physician-bioengineer relationship for its entrepreneurship opportunities. When I joined the Quarter at Aggie Square program in 2023,  I collaborated with surgeons, professors, and industry to search for unmet clinical needs. Consequently, my team and I identified a need for an automated cardiac image reconstruction tool.
