• Documented and submitted key lessons learned from the CHANGE program on Health Service Delivery and Health Systems Strengthening with the Ministries of Health to inform the design of the next phase of FCDO Somalia.
• Supported the Ministries of Health and the World Bank Funded Female Health Worker program to develop annual community service delivery plans and refine institutional capacity building plans.

PSI led a consortium working with the Ministries of Health in Somalia and Somaliland to pilot and deliver an essential package of health services (EPHS) through sub-contracting of NGO partners; empowering vulnerable populations to overcome barriers to accessing care; and helping build health system components, including government oversight. • Responsible for assessing the humanitarian response in emergency situations in the context of PMTCT and Maternal Health in Turkana, Nyando, Uasin Gishu and Nakuru Central. The focus of the consultancy was to:
• Assess the policy and strategic framework for PMTCT and Maternal Health humanitarian response in emergency situations
• Conduct an analysis of key supply, demand and management bottlenecks in humanitarian action
• Define and disseminate best practices, lessons learned and recommendations for program integration and scale-up.

Responsible for conducting a baseline Youth HIV survey in Somaliland, Puntland and South-Central zones funded by Global Fund (Round 8). The objective of this survey is to determine levels of sexual experience, risk perception, HIV knowledge and exposure to interventions amongst youth. Workshop facilitation with UNICEF, UNDP, and WHO for the 3 Zonal AIDS.

Assessed the progress and lessons from the implementation of the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) in Health Facilities roll-out in Gedo, Sahil and Karkaar regions. The focus was to learn from the experiences and draw out the best practices to inform EPHS roll out through other programmes, in similar settings across Somalia and Somaliland.

Design a DFID funded media campaign in Nyanza Province, Kenya to improve Maternal Health practices through radio spots and long format health shows. Collaboration with Centre for Disease Control (CDC) to evaluate the impact of the media campaign through the Demographic Surveillance Survey (DSS).

Provided technical assistance and quality assurance to 33 country platforms to increase the use of population and market evidence in malaria control decision-making at field and international levels.
