Profile bio

About Saba Khan

I am an objective driven and passionate technical specialist with over 20 years’ experience working in Eastern Africa and South-East Asia in health systems strengthening, operations research, program design and management. I have worked with PSI over several years and as such I am aware of PSI’s strengths and what we “do” and “don’t do”. I am also conversant with PSI’s global strategy and HSS strategy, having led the development of PSI Somalia’s last strategic plan and through my current role as a consultant with the Health Systems Accelerator department. This experience has enabled me to better identify opportunities for how PSI can engage in HSS and positioning as a strategic partner in the health sector. I have worked with Ministries of Health to develop and support delivery of complex health programs and capacity building initiatives in fragile states aligned to national health sector strategic plans. I have experience in landscaping and analysis of health systems and local governance structures and delivery of mixed models of service delivery contributing to Universal Health Coverage goals. I have extensive experience in successfully managing large consortiums, donor relations, external partner management, fund raising and monitoring and evaluation. I am a goal-oriented, highly organized team player ready to bring my track record of working with international organizations and donors into your organization. You will find me to be highly adaptable to change, with ability to fit into teams seamlessly. My experience in fragile contexts has prepared me for attaining results in extremely difficult contexts, navigating competing interests with ease, and ultimately delivering program objectives.
