About Sabrina Sturgeon

Managing the Council of Independent Colleges, AI Ready Programs and Belong: An Inclusive Learning Community. These national networks are dedicated to the professional development of independent college university and staff on the topics of generative AI, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.Higher Education presents several challenges in the 21st century. We have a burgeoning student debt bubble, students are not adequately prepared for universities, and the purpose of higher education is in limbo. These challenges are exactly why I want to be in the field. We have a lot of change that needs to happen and I'm excited to be entering the field at a time like this when things are ripe to be shaken up and disrupted for the greater good of an educated and equitable society of tomorrow. I'm critical, but simultaneously hopeful. Working at NASPA, Virginia Tech, and The Placement Exchange I've had the opportunity to engage in several different types of projects from a national level assessment project to working with the highest level of university governance, the Board of Visitors. My practice is guided from a lens of embracing new technology, data driven decision making, and relationship building. I am skilled in assessment, facilitation, large-scale programming, crisis response, and social media management. Working alongside highly-skilled and diverse teams has put me in a place to excel in professional development, DEIB, and Data Analysis. I'm excited to begin new projects and be a part of that next big thing. Shoot me a message, I'm always happy to make new professional acquaintances.
