• Manage Capital Projects: Identifying business needs & suitable vendors whilst managing capital expenditures (estimated planned budget of 2010 of up to $2.5m). Establishing complete technical requirements for new equipment and acceptance T&C tests in order to protect Hexcel’s interests. Co-manage some project with on-site engineering to ensure project timescales are realised and costs controlled. On-site engineering are directed when necessary to ensure technical requirements of new equipment meet project deliverables. Commissioning equipment and establishing key parameters to test for sign off on completion of project. • Key Contact: Ensuring qualification project and QC release testing time scales are not affected by equipment failures. Responsible for co-managing maintenance of all equipment within the Technical Centre. Ensuring problem-solving exercises to be undertaken in as short a time frame as possible to minimise downtime of equipment. Primary supplier contact relating to lab scale processing and mechanical testing. Customer contact for composite testing advice. Collaborate with professional bodies such as Composite Materials Handbook (CMH-17), British Society for Strain Measurement (BSSM) and etc, to keep in line with current market situation and current process improvements. • Calibration: Ensuring all equipment is registered on the database & is calibrated and referenced back to appropriate standards. Responsible for all calibration certificates to be accurate, accounted for and traceable. • Flow Analysis and Six Sigma Principles: Implementing changes to increase productivity, repeatability and reliability; for e.g. test method improvements via software/hardware and/or set up changes. • Monitor Equipment Safety: Managing PUWER assessments; new equipment installed is of the highest standard, fit for purpose and complies with EU safety standards.

Airbus Projects; preparation & planning, reading and vetting external test specifications, preparing & machining test specimens, testing physical & mechanical properties using variety of test standards, analyze & report results whilst developing further understanding & exploration of composite materials & their structures either via current or novel methods.
