Virtusa serves Global 2000 companies in the Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Media, Entertainment, Travel, Manufacturing, and Technology industries with a workforce of close to 23,000 members.As a Project Manager in the HR Digital Transformation Team, my key responsibilities were:- Plan, coordinate, and deliver on the creation and maintenance of in-house and adaptation/integration of 3rd party tools for use in production.- Quickly understand the situation and the needs of the business and be able to translate them into viable solutions.- Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within the scope of available resources.- Coordinate, supervise, and be the project strategist from beginning to end.- Liaise with production stakeholders for requirements, priorities, tests, and roll-out plans.- Advise on the allocation of development resources.- Prepare, maintain, and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports.- Manage projects using Agile Methodologies.- Manage multiple scrum teams in a distributed environment.Key accomplishments:- Managed a shared resource pool of 12 team members remotely across 3 implementation projects and maintained successful delivery of deadlines.- Successfully guided the deployment and post-go-live phase of a delayed project to relative success within 3 months of joining the company.- Engaged as a project manager in the implementation of projects in the following categories from procurement stage, implementation, maintenance handover planning to production roll out: Employee Onboading System, Travel and Immigration System, Employee Skill Management System, and Employee Learning Management System.

The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka is the apex ICT institution of the Government. ICTA is mandated to take all necessary measures to implement the Government’s Policy and Action Plan related to ICT.My role as Associate Project Manager was within the Technology Department under the CTO of ICTA. The Technology Department engages in projects as technical consultants or as system integrators. Key responsibilities of my role:- End-to-end project management including all aspects of the project.- Resource allocation manager.- Key point of contact for stakeholders outside the organization involved in all software development projects.- Manage all technical implementation projects using Agile Principles (mainly agile-scrum).- Scrum master for all projects undertaken as project manager.Key accomplishments- Project Manager for the national project "Sri Lanka Unique Digital Identity" which involved the introduction of a biometric-based digital identification system with an integrated architecture to access government services through a central platform. Successfully completed the POC of the project involving multiple integrations with private companies from various sectors such as Government, Fintech, and Telecommunications.- Managed a team of 21 members involved in several scrum teams.
