This role has an emphasis on quality and involves the use of metrology equipment ranging from gauge blocks and micrometers to interferometers and optical profilometers.- I design the tooling (ranging from cryogenic equipment to measurement devices to work-holding tools for manufacturing processes) and the packaging required for the jobs that I'm responsible for.- I oversee preventative maintenance and quality/repeatability/calibration testing on machines and equipment in the company.- I can use and program all of the manufacturing equipment in the company (using Mastercam or through typing out GCode) and perform any process required to create an optic.- I helped hire and train a new production staff member and I have trained existing staff members on the use of equipment in the company. The job required me to be on my feet continuously moving in a hot environment. I enjoyed learning about the various herbs and seeing how the business worked.
