Sadie Drescher has over 20 years of environmental experience and is the Vice President of Programs for Restoration for the Chesapeake Bay Trust. In this position Sadie supports Chesapeake Bay restoration through innovative award programs and research efforts supported by stormwater utility/CIP funds, mitigation funds, local operating funds, Supplemental Environment Project (SEP) funds, and federal/state/local funds. Sadie leads a team of nine restoration professionals to competitively award projects, deliver restoration results to partners, and communicate the findings to the Chesapeake Bay community.Prior to joining the Trust, Sadie worked at the Center for Watershed Protection (the Center) as a Watershed Researcher and Planner. At the Center Sadie developed watershed management strategies and tools for local communities with an emphasis on stormwater management solutions. In addition, Sadie was one of four Center staff that served as the Sediment and Stream Corridor Restoration Coordinator for the EPA Chesapeake Bay Program Office leading the Shoreline Management Expert Panel Report.Prior to joining the Center, Sadie was a Research Specialist II for SC’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management in the Science and Policy Division and focused on stormwater management, low impact development, coastal buffers, policy and regulatory analysis, and stakeholder outreach. In addition, Sadie worked at the USDA Center for Forested Wetlands (SC) and for the Department of Energy Biochemical and Biological Engineering Research Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (TN).Specialties: Stormwater management, policy and science, grant and scientific writing, research and development, coastal management, professional networking, training and workshop leadership, public speaking, and community involvement.
