Interned for an attorney who is a guardian ad litem (GAL) and who has a primary focus on juvenile and family law. A couple of specific things I learned are procedures that need to be done prior to writing GAL reports, different types of GAL reports and similar and contrasting responsibilities being a divorce attorney versus a GAL.

Interned for the lead juvenile judge & had shadowed a plethora people involved with the Franklin County Juvenile and Family Court. I creatively designed an informational brochure on the collateral consequences of a minor getting involved with the juvenile court, which the judge has been able to present at different meetings. In addition, I learned about how the family & juvenile court system works and what qualities are needed to become a successful attorney.
