I'm currently completing my Master's degree in Clinical Audiology at the University of Melbourne. The change of heart from teaching to audiology is purely based on my motivation to follow my dream of being an Audiologist since a young age.Driven by my passion for wanting to provide the best quality of life to others and growing up as a hearing-impaired individual, I have an advantage when it comes to understanding some of my client's needs. I have experience in both the hearing and deaf communities. I am currently fitted with Cochlear Implants (CI) bilaterally, and they have made a worldly difference in my life. After a sudden sensorineural hearing loss, hearing aids were no longer able to give me the amplification I needed to hear any sound. I was then put on a waiting list to get CIs and I waited 6 months without sound. I am forever grateful to be able to hear again with better sound quality and I want to give back to my community by inspiring others and helping them improve their quality of life. In my experiences of teaching primary school-aged children, I understand the difficulties that can occur in a classroom setting for students and teachers who are hard of hearing in a mainstream school. My goal is to provide my clients with the confidence they need to wear hearing devices and provide parents with the clarity and support they need to understand hearing loss as part of their child's life.
